Help Ukrainians improve their English in a free online conversation process, through ENGin, while also connecting cross-culturally. Volunteers are also invited to participate in Jewish learning and reflection sessions monthly. ENGin matches English speakers with Ukrainians interested in learning English through cross cultural exchanges and online speaking practice. Effort will be taken to match Baltimore-based volunteers with participants in Odesa, our partner city.

Support and advocate for children in the Baltimore County foster care system at CASA of Baltimore County. CASA of Baltimore County provides advocates for children in foster care who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and ensures they receive support and needed services.
Deliver meals to Meals on Wheels clients during the week who are homebound and/or isolated. Meals on Wheels enables people to live independently in their homes by providing food and other needed services.
Help deliver donations to service partners (nonprofits and schools) throughout Baltimore City and County on an as-needed basis. Individuals would pick up and deliver based on their availability. The Louise D. & Morton J. Macks Jewish Connection Network’s mission is to empower individuals to explore and deepen their own Jewish journeys, inspiring them to form lasting connections to a diverse, inclusive and vibrant Baltimore Jewish community.
Drop off bagged meals and groceries to city schools for students and families experiencing food insecurity. Weekend Backpacks delivers bagged meals to food-insecure students and their families to last a weekend.
Assist staff with cleaning dog kennels (including laundry, dishes, sweeping, mopping, and more) at Baltimore Humane Society. Baltimore Humane Society provides care to thousands of animals each year and provides services such as low-cost spay and neuter, vaccines, and more.
Safely handle, walk, and socialize with dogs in designated and/or “off-leash” areas at Baltimore Humane Society. Volunteers must follow protocols for handling dogs and using enrichment toys to boost dogs’ mental and physical health. Baltimore Humane Society provides care to thousands of animals each year and provides services such as low-cost spay and neuter, vaccines, and more.
Help older adults in the community by driving them to medical appointments and the grocery store through the CHAI’s Northwest Neighbors Connecting (NNC) program. Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc. (CHAI) aims to strengthen neighborhoods with a significant Jewish presence by developing and enhancing housing, affecting community development, and supporting aging-in-community. Northwest Neighbors Connecting (NNC) is a member-led community of active, creative, and independent adults who connect with and care for one another.
Care for the buildings at Pearlstone, including completing room checks, painting, and performing preventative maintenance. Pearlstone retreat center, farm, and programs enable and inspire vibrant Jewish life. The grounds include an educational farm featuring crops and an animal pasture.
Family mentors are matched with a newcomer family in Baltimore and meet with the family at their home to practice English, navigate social services, and develop cross-cultural friendships. Soccer Without Borders provides refugee and immigrant participants with year-round soccer programming, plus English language learning, teambuilding, and mentoring.
Support families experiencing mental illness through mentoring, tutoring, cleaning/household tasks, preparing meals, delivering homemade kosher Shabbat meals and other tasks. Shalom Tikvah is a non-profit organization that supports Jewish families facing challenging life circumstances.
Help fit, style, and measure clients at Sharp Dressed Man. Sharp Dressed Man provides men in workforce programs throughout Baltimore with professional clothing for interviews.
