Small Way to “Do Jewish” in 2025

Looking for ways to deepen your connection to Jewish traditions and community in the new year? Whether you’re just starting to explore or looking to add something new to your routine, we’ve got you covered Here are 10 easy and inspiring ideas to spark your journey.

1. Find a new Jewish recipe and invite someone over for Shabbat to enjoy together.

2. Download an Israeli music playlist.

3. Use Duolingo (or another app) and learn a new Hebrew word every week.

4. Volunteer with an organization that inspires you and practice tikkun olam (repairing the world) – Check out our Volunteer Opportunities to find something that speaks to you!

5. Start a tzedakah (charity) box in your home to start a habit of giving.

6. Celebrate a Jewish holiday beyond the High Holidays and discover its unique traditions.

7. Grab a friend and attend an event that’s outside your normal social circle.

8. Follow a new Jewish account or influencer on social media – don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay connected!

9. Read a book with Jewish themes or by a Jewish author.

10. Reach out to an older family member and ask them to share memories of their Jewish traditions growing up. Or connect with a Jewish elder in your community to hear their stories and experiences.
