Help serve food (lunch and/or dinner), wash dishes, prepare food, clean dining area (including sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables), and other meal-service related tasks at Helping Up Mission. Helping Up Mission is a 24/7 shelter in Baltimore City for men, women, and children experiencing addiction, homelessness, or poverty.
Meal prep takes place from 9am-11am. Lunch takes place from 11:15am-12:45pm and dinner from 4:30pm-6:00pm, seven days/weel. One-time or ongoing opportunities available.
ServSafe certification for food preparation is preferred but not required. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and complete background check ($19). Volunteers must identify as female. All kitchen volunteers must wear long pants or skirts below the knee, a shirt with sleeves, closed-in shoes in both heels and toes, and a hairnet or cap. Hairnets, aprons and gloves will be provided to all volunteers. Maximum of 2 volunteers for food preparation and 5 for lunch and dinner.
