Purim is a joyous Jewish holiday celebrated in late winter/early spring. It commemorates the Jewish people’s successful defeat of Haman’s plot to destroy the Jews, as told in the Book of Esther. Purim is traditionally celebrated by reading the Purim story, giving money or gifts to those in need, sending gifts of 2 kinds of food to a friend or neighbor, and partaking in a festive feast. Today, many families celebrate by dressing up in costumes! To learn more, read this blog post.
This year, Purim begins at sundown on Monday, March 2, 2026 and ends at nightfall on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
