Purim Round Up 2024

Purim is a joyous Jewish holiday celebrated in the later winter/early spring. It commemorates the Jewish people’s successful defeat of Haman’s plot to destroy the Jews, as told in the Book of Esther. Purim is traditionally celebrated by reading the Purim story, giving money or gifts to those in need, sending gifts of 2 kinds of food to a friend or neighbor, and partaking in a festive feast. Today, many families celebrate by dressing up in costumes! To learn more, read this blog post.

Join in the Purim festivities! See below for some exciting experiences here in Baltimore. To have your Purim Experience featured on this list, please complete this form.

The Baltimore Shinshinim Present: The First Ever Baltimore Jewish Community Mishloach Manot Exchange

It is a tradition on Purim (and also a mitzvah) to give others a mishloach manot, a Purim gift basket full of goodies. Let’s celebrate this Purim, and make new friends, with a Mishloach Manot exchange the way it is done in many communities in Israel.

Getting started is easy:
• Register by Sunday, March 17 and tell us a bit about yourself and your dietary needs.
• We will take the information provided and make the matching magic happen!
• You will receive your match a few days before the holiday and deliver your Mishloach Manot directly to them for Purim (March 24).

Let’s connect as a community and make new friends!
