Pro Tips for Maximizing Your Camp Adventure

Summer is quickly approaching and it’s time to gear up for the ultimate camp experience. We asked former camp counselors from our staff and their friends to share nuggets of wisdom to help you make the most of your summer adventure.  So, pack your bags, toss in the essentials and get ready for the summer camp experience of a lifetime!

  1. Stay Refreshed: Drinking water is more than just a suggestion at camp– it’s your secret weapon for staying active during camp. Bring along an insulated water bottle and sip your way through the day. Whether you’re climbing rock walls or crafting friendship bracelets, staying hydrated keeps you feeling your best all day long.
  2. Cozy Up Your Space: Your bunk is your home away from home; make it your own by adding a touch of comfort and personality. Throw down a fluffy rug, snuggle up with a cozy blanket and deck the walls with plenty of photos. By adding unique details and decor, you’ll feel right at home!
  3. Make Your Mark…Literally: Amidst all the matching Crocs and tie-dyed t-shirts, it’s easy for things to go missing. That’s why it’s so important to follow this golden rule: label everything! From your favorite hoodie to your trusty flashlight, put your name or initials on it. That way it’s sure to find its way back to you if it gets lost.
  4. Embrace Adventure: Camp is your playground, so why not make the most of it? Step out of your comfort zone and dive into new experiences! Unleash your inner adventurer by trying out for the camp musical, shooting hoops on the court, or even getting your hands dirty at the farm. You might just discover a hidden talent or passion along the way!
  5. Capture Every Moment: Camp memories are precious, priceless and cherished. That’s why it’s encouraged to document every laugh, every new experience, and every unforgettable moment. Pack a camera to snap candid shots, keep a journal to jot down your thoughts and don’t forget a pillowcase or t-shirt for friends to sign at the end of the summer. When camp ends, these memories will be your most treasured souvenirs.
